With over 8 years experience, my passion for newborn photography lies in capturing authentic and timeless memories.
I believe babies are perfect just the way they are and that’s why I like to keep things simple. With a love of natural and neutral tones and a combination of both posed and lifestyle photography, I can capture all those special details for you and your family to treasure for many years to come.
I offer two types of newborn session; Studio or In-home Lifestyle.
Some families are more comfortable going to a studio for a photoshoot, while others prefer the photographer to come to their home.
Please read the details below to see which session is right for you and your family.
Hopefully this FAQ section will answer many , if not all, of your questions about a newborn session with me. Should you have anything else that you would like answered, please get in touch with me via the contact page and I will respond promptly.
Tell me about a studio newborn session..
Newborn sessions in studio are minimalistic with a love of natural and neutral tones to create timeless and authentic memories of your baby in such a way that you never forget. With the soft window light and a cloth background, I gently guide a baby into a pose that is comfortable for them and photography those sweet moments that you will never want to forget. The scrunchy faces, the way a newborn smiles right before falling into a deep sleep, the snuggles from mum or the gentle hold of a new dad.
Newborn sessions are entirely baby-led and un-hurried. Maximum amount of time is always allocated to settle & feed.
All blankets and wraps etc are provided.
Newborn sessions are best to take place when your baby is between 7 and 14 days old in studio, you can expect tiny, curly and sleepy babies at this age. However, there is no limit on photographing a small baby – if you have a newborn older than 14 days I can still help you. A baby who is 3-10 weeks old will likely be awake during the session and my focus will be on their eye contact, movement, and everything that makes them who they are at this point in time.
What is a lifestyle newborn session?
Sessions are un-hurried and entirely baby-led. Maximum amount of time is always allocated to settle & feed.
In-home lifestyle sessions can take place anytime from birth up to 12 months old.
When is the best time to book a newborn session?
Is there an age limit for newborn photography?
If you really want photos of your sweet, new baby asleep and dreamy, then it’s best to do your session within the 7-14 days. If you’re happy with a more awake, interactive images of your baby, a session can take place any time within the first couple of months.
What if my baby arrives early/late? Will you still be able to fit me in?
When you make your booking for your newborn session, I make a note of your estimated due date on my calendar.
If your baby happens to arrive earlier or later than expected, this is no problem. I keep my week day schedule quite flexible to accommodate the unpredictability of babies. I also understand that some of our sweet little ones need a little extra time in the hospital as well. In these cases, we will adjust the time to schedule your newborn session when baby is home and heathy.
